Bricking is a word very common with android devices. There are diffrent types of bricking as it relates to android devices. Hard brick and soft brick are the two types of bricking.
As admin here,i flash all kinds of things so as to know if it works, before posting it here so that i will avoid posting things that will harm your devices, and that has made me brick my phone alot of times.

Bootloop: This is the most common problem faced by most galaxy pocket users.Bootlooop is when your device cannot boot to the Operating system and as a result ,it continues to show only the bootanimation or continues to reboot over and over again.it can be classified under soft brick also and can occur when you flash roms improperly or tamper with a system application that is essential or even changing a build prop  wrongly can also result in bootloop.
Now solution to bootloop is very easy, you just need to restore a nandroid back up,or better still flash Another rom or that same rom as long as you have them at the root of your sdcard. So it is a very good practice to have some rom on the root of your sdcard always.

Soft Brick:This type of brick is easy to to fix. They are caused by software issues that can be corrected easily. In most soft brick the user will be able to boot into recovery mod or download mode or even both but will not be able to boot into the Operating system, there may be no bootanimation at all, just some black screen on hangs at Samsung Gt-S5300 screen. So if the device can boot to recovery then flashing another rom through cwm recovery will unbrick the device in most case.On the otherway if your devices can boot into download then reflashing a stock firmware via odin will do the unbricking. One little advice i have for you is always make sure that usb debugging is always on.

Hard brick: This type of brick is hard as the name implies, and most times it cannot be unbricked easily that is if there is ever a way to unbrick it.The best way i know of is to take it back to the manufacturer as only they can unbrick it,either by changing the board or the entire device and better pray you are still on warranty period otherwise , you will have to keep it as an expensive paperwieght.I have hard bricked my device when trying to partition my sdcard from cwm using a cwm for galaxy y because at that time there was no cwm for galaxy pocket and the phone went dead,i tried all sorts of things but it did not work.I took it to samsung, then they gave me another galaxy pocket.
So you now know what to do when any of the above happens to your device. You can allow bootloop,Soft brick to occur, but never allow hard brick.Have a nice time.
